Enterprise artificial intelligence is migrating from centralized clouds to distributed physical environments. Zededa Inc. announced a new Edge Intelligence Platform designed to simplify deployment across factories, ships, and retail stores.

Said Ouissal, Zededa CEO, described the launch as a critical inflection point for inference. He noted that companies must move beyond proofs of concept to live operational environments. The company currently operates in over 100 countries, supporting verticals like manufacturing and maritime logistics with partners such as A.P. Møller - Mærsk.

Hardware advancements are enabling this shift. Nvidia Corp.'s IGX Thor platform now allows powerful large language models to run directly at industrial sites. Zededa Senior Vice President Padraig Stapleton highlighted use cases ranging from production line inspections to safety applications on oil rigs.

Discussions took place during the Nvidia GTC AI Conference & Expo 2026. Executives emphasized that early adopters amassing this technology stand to gain significant competitive advantages in the emerging edge economy.
