Super Micro Computer announced Friday that co-founder Yih-Shyan Liaw has resigned from its board, effective immediately.
The move follows charges filed Thursday by the U.S. Justice Department. Prosecutors allege Liaw, sales manager Ruei-Tsang Chang, and contractor Ting-Wei Sun orchestrated a scheme to route U.S.-made servers through Taiwan to Southeast Asia. The resignation marks a significant leadership shift amid federal investigation.
