Canadian telecommunications firm Telus is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to its systems. The ShinyHunters hacking group claims to have stolen at least 700 terabytes of data.
Telus states that all business operations remain fully operational with no disruption to customer connectivity or service. The company is collaborating with cyber forensics experts and law enforcement, and is notifying impacted customers.
Samples of the data, shared by the hacking group, reportedly include personally identifiable information, call data, FBI background check information, and source code from various business divisions. ShinyHunters has previously been linked to breaches at other major global companies.
