Dubai International Airport halted all flights Monday after a drone attack ignited a fire near one of its fuel tanks. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority ordered the suspension as a precaution for passenger and staff safety.

Civil defence teams contained the blaze. Officials confirmed no injuries from the initial incident.

Emirates Airlines confirmed the temporary suspension of all flights to and from Dubai.

Later Wednesday, two falling drones wounded four people near the airport - previously one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

Iran has launched over 1,800 missiles and drones into the UAE since February 28, targeting infrastructure including airports, oil facilities, and diplomatic sites. The UAE, which normalized ties with Israel in 2020, has borne the heaviest toll. Its defence ministry reports six deaths linked to the conflict - four civilians and two military personnel in a helicopter crash unrelated to direct strikes.

The UAE and fellow Gulf states have condemned Iran’s attacks.
