An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City late Wednesday killed at least 10 people, including five children, local hospitals report. The target was a senior Hamas battalion commander, Imad Asleem, who was killed along with his teenage daughter.
Israel’s military confirmed it struck "two central Hamas terrorists" in the northern Gaza Strip without naming them. Witnesses described a chaotic aftermath, with bodies in pieces and tents destroyed in a nearby camp for displaced people.

On Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz reiterated the pledge to eliminate those responsible for the October 7, 2023, attacks. Separately, Tuesday strikes in Khan Younis killed the head of a Hamas funds transfer network and a weapons manufacturing unit commander.

The strikes come as US-brokered talks, aimed at implementing President Trump’s peace plan, remain deadlocked over Hamas disarming and Israeli troop withdrawal.
