A suicide car bombing in Quetta, Pakistan, killed at least 24 people and injured around 70 on Sunday morning. The blast occurred near a railway track in the Faquir Abad area, derailing a passenger train and sparking a fire.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act of terrorism. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed that innocent civilians, including women and children, were among the casualties.
The Balochistan Liberation Army, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization, claimed responsibility. The group has carried out multiple attacks in the region, which is rich in oil and minerals.
A government investigation is ongoing, and officials warn the death toll could rise.
