Scenes in Florida
Pretty gloomy.
The storm is hitting the Camping World Stadium as we speak, so it looks like we may be waiting a while.
To be honest, this is the picture I would see all the time while growing up in the UK - doesn't look that bad to me.
I'm sure it's a lot worse than person... which makes me happy to be sat in a cushty office right now.
'30-minute delay after lightning strikes'
Jack Gaughan, Mail Sport, in Orlando:
The regulations here are that there is a 30-minute delay to a match from whenever a strike of lightning hits within an eight-mile radius of the stadium. The last one of those was around five minutes ago so let’s see if there are any further bits of weather.
Should actually clarify that it’s a 30-minute wait before you can warm up, so we’re at least an hour away here.
Heavens open as France face Ukraine in 2012
There is rain, and then there is RAIN...
Let's rewind back to 2012, when France were set to play Ukraine in te group stages of the European Championship.
It's fair to say it was rather wet.
Torrential rain partnered with thunder and lightning caused the match to be paused after just five minutes.
It took nearly an hour for it to resume again, and by that time the pitch was basically a swimming pool.
They carried on, though, and France ran out 2-0 winners.
I don't reckon they needed to hit the showers after this one, do you?
What are the worst weather conditions in football history?
Might as well stay on trend, right?
Football has been played in some extreme conditions over the years, whether it be heavy snow or torrential rain.
With tonight delayed due to a storm, I thought I would take a look at historic matches that have been plagued by the weather.
There are plenty to look at, that's for sure.
What now?
Well, I guess we wait then...
I'm not used to this happening, we don't really get this in the UK, do we?
You know, we just get on with it...
Only joking, we don't get raging storms to the extent of places like Florida.
Will this game still be played? Let's hope so.
Match DELAYED due to storm
Oh dear, this doesn't look good.
Manchester City have confirmed that tonight's match has been delayed indefinitely.
Why you ask?
It's due to a storm that is set to hit Orlando in Florida. The extent of the delay is still unknown.
Guardiola: 'Playing Barcelona is always special'
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss, on Monday:
It doesn’t matter if it’s a friendly or an official game against Barcelona, for me personally, for the Club and team it will always be so special.
I am here thanks to Barcelona - they gave me absolutely everything. It’s not words to be nice to Catalonia, it is the truth.
Can City finally get a win?
I can't believe this is a question I am even asking...
Manchester City are yet to win on their pre-season tour of the US this summer, something they are not accustomed to.
To be fair to Pep Guardiola, he has been missing many of his biggest stars following Euro 2024.
However, conceding a combined seven goals to Celtic and AC Milan - as well as losing both matches - is not something Guardiola would have liked to see.
They will want to change that tonight, that's for sure.
Will they? We will have to wait and see.
Barcelona Team News - Lenglet CAPTAIN
Interesting, very interesting...
Hansi Flick has named his first starting line-up in Barcelona's tour of the US.
It's fair to say, it's not the strongest of sides.
Clement Lenglet has been named as captain, that tells you all you need to know.
A big chance for the young guns to shine.
Man City Team News - Kovacic STARTS
Straight into it with the team news!
Pep Guardiola has a few more of the big guns at his disposal this evening, that's for sure.
Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, and Rico Lewis all start this evening.
Is this the side to get City's first win of their US pre-season tour?
Clash of the Titans!
Oh, this one is going to be a cracker, isn't it?
It might only be a friendly, but the prospect of Manchester City facing off with Barcelona is just mouth-watering.
It is a fixture that could easily be a Champions League final, they are both giants of the sport.
In just under 45 minutes' time, the two teams will battle it out in Orlando, Florida, at the Camping World Stadium - an odd name, right?
City will be keen to get a win on the board after losing their last two matches stateside against Celtic and AC Milan.
It's not going to be easy.
Right, that's enough of an introduction, let's get this show on the road!
