McLaren Racing has joined the Hedera Council, becoming one of the most recognizable global sports brands in the network’s governing body. Council members hold equal voting rights and help steer Hedera’s development.
The move deepens a partnership first announced in January focused on digital fan engagement through free-to-claim collectibles during Formula 1 and IndyCar race weekends. The program is now live for the 2026 season.
Initial drops launched at the Australian and Chinese Grand Prix weekends, with a third release scheduled for Japan. Fans must use a Hedera-compatible wallet to claim and hold the digital assets via McLaren’s MCL COLLECT platform.
With a presence in over 180 countries, McLaren offers Hedera rare access to a mainstream global audience-far beyond typical crypto partnerships.
McLaren leadership will appear at HederaCon on May 4 in Miami Beach, coinciding with the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix and Consensus 2026.
