Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has ordered an urgent nationwide review following a measles outbreak with over 600 cases, officials said.

He directed two senior ministers to travel across Bangladesh to assess the scale of the crisis and coordinate response efforts.

Ministry of Health official Md Halimur Rashid stated there have been 674 measles cases this year.

The measles drive scheduled for June 2024 was delayed due to political unrest.

The next campaign will start in June.
