The EMJ Podcast has been shortlisted for Audio Content of the Year at the 2026 Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Awards. This nomination highlights its commitment to editorial excellence and pioneering audio storytelling.
The podcast was selected from over 260 entries, evaluated by a panel of more than 50 industry experts. Andrea Charles, Editorial Director at EMJ, stated the recognition is a testament to the team's innovation, collaboration, and ambition, acknowledging hosts and guests for their contributions to delivering high-quality content to healthcare professionals globally.
EMJ Podcast has evolved its format, moving from single, one-hour episodes to a modular editorial structure with multi-series formats. This shift allows for sharper thematic focus and deeper medical exploration. The podcast achieved over 351,000 views last year and continues to see sustained engagement across various therapy areas, supported by investment in in-house recording capabilities.
Specialist series, 'Hema Now' and 'Onc Now', have also been launched, focusing on haematology and oncology, respectively. These series build on the podcast's long-form format to create discipline-specific content and engage new specialist clinical audiences.
The PPA Awards celebrate influential brands and innovators in the UK's publishing sector.
