The White House is finalizing a drug pricing deal with pharmaceutical giant Regeneron, marking the final agreement among major drug companies under the Trump administration's Most Favored Nation (MFN) pricing initiative. Regeneron joins 16 other large pharmaceutical firms that have committed to these pricing agreements.
President Trump has prioritized MFN deals as a key strategy to reduce prescription drug costs for Americans. The administration previously engaged with 17 major drug manufacturers, seeking price concessions on brand-name medications. While the administration has highlighted these agreements as beneficial for consumers, the specific terms of these voluntary deals have not been publicly disclosed.
The administration's efforts also include potential tariffs on imported drugs. Companies agreeing to both move some drug production to the U.S. and accept MFN pricing would be exempt from these tariffs. Those that only relocate production would face a 20% tariff.
