Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Chris Streveler has likely retired after four seasons with the team and brief NFL stints. His former teammates hinted at his decision earlier this year, and he shared a video of himself hanging up his jerseys on social media.

Streveler, 31, played for the Bombers from 2018 to 2021 before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2020. He was waived after a season and a half and also played for the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets before returning to the Bombers.

He suffered serious knee injuries over the past two seasons and is currently a free agent. CFL officials praised his dedication and leadership during the annual Combine in Edmonton.

"When he was out there on the field, what he was willing to do for his teammates would be second to none," said head coach Mike O’Shea.
