The Edmonton Elks secured a dramatic 23-18 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Thursday night at Princess Auto Stadium.
Quarterback Cody Fajardo engineered the game-winning drive in the final minutes, connecting with receiver TJ Luther on an eight-yard touchdown pass.
The Elks, now 3-0 for the first time since 2017, overcame a Winnipeg rally. Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros had brought his team back from a 17-0 deficit to take an 18-17 lead in the fourth quarter.
Fajardo completed 23 of 35 passes for 267 yards. Running back Justin Rankin was a key contributor, rushing for 106 yards.
The sold-out crowd of 32,343 marked Winnipeg's 16th consecutive capacity attendance.
