Elena Rybakina rallied from a set down to defeat Jessica Pegula 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Miami Open quarter-finals, securing her fifth straight win over the American.
The world No. 2 overcame an early deficit at Hard Rock Stadium, adapting her game with aggressive net approaches to counter Pegula’s quick, short shots.
"It was never easy," Rybakina said post-match. "I had to adjust. I got lucky a few times-but I stayed composed."
She now faces either Hailey Baptiste or world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, whom she lost to in the Indian Wells final just weeks ago.
