Formula One's governing body, the FIA, is incorporating driver feedback into proposed rule changes designed to improve racing. Drivers have expressed concerns about current regulations, particularly regarding energy management and its impact on safety during high-speed corners.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem confirmed constructive discussions with drivers, highlighting their "invaluable input" on adjustments needed for safe, fair, and competitive racing. Meetings with teams and engine manufacturers are also underway to refine proposals before a FIA World Motor Sport Council vote.

Mercedes driver George Russell noted an unusually close working relationship between drivers and the FIA, indicating alignment on key objectives like eliminating "lift and coast" during qualifying and reducing closing speeds. These discussions follow a significant crash involving Haas driver Oliver Bearman in Japan, which underscored safety concerns related to power unit deployment and speed differentials.
