The Winnipeg Blue Bombers wrapped up their preseason with a 30-19 loss to the BC Lions at Princess Auto Stadium, resting most starters including quarterback Zach Collaros.
Lions receiver Nick Cenacle scored twice in the first half, giving BC a 20-13 lead at the break. The Bombers' only second-half touchdown came in the final minute. Head coach Mike O'Shea said the team has good film to review and tough roster decisions ahead.
Taylor Elgersma and Bryce Perkins scored on quarterback sneaks. Elgersma completed 11 of 20 passes for 127 yards and added 18 rushing yards, making a strong case for the backup job. O'Shea praised his command of the game but stopped short of naming him QB2. Perkins went 7-of-10 for 51 yards in the fourth quarter. Christian Fredericksen led receivers with six catches for 79 yards.
The Bombers now prepare for their season opener Friday against the Calgary Stampeders.
