Florida police have confirmed WWE legend Hulk Hogan died of natural causes, with no evidence of drugs or foul play. Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24, 2025, at age 71 in Clearwater, reportedly after suffering cardiac arrest.
An autopsy conducted in August determined his death resulted "exclusively from compelling natural disease." His wife, Sky, had earlier dispelled rumors of a health crisis, saying he was recovering from surgeries.
Hogan's career began in the late 1970s in Championship Wrestling from Florida. He rose to superstardom in the WWF under Vince McMahon, creating "Hulkamania" with his iconic catchphrase demanding fans train, say prayers, and eat vitamins. His legendary feud with Andre the Giant culminated at WrestleMania III, where Hogan body-slammed the 520-pound giant in what became known as "the bodyslam heard around the world."
In WCW, Hogan formed the New World Order faction, helping the organization dominate ratings for 83 consecutive weeks. He later returned to WWE for a dream match against The Rock. Hogan was a six-time WWE champion, two-time Royal Rumble winner, and inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice-individually in 2005 and as part of the NWO in 2020. He also held six world heavyweight championships in WCW and the IWGP title in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
