Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga etched his name into NBA history books Wednesday night at the American Airlines Center. During the third quarter of a 135-120 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Kuminga secured a defensive rebound near his own baseline.

Intending to find an open teammate for a layup, Kuminga launched a pass from approximately 75 feet away. The ball sailed directly through the hoop, registering as a three-point field goal. Elias Sports Bureau confirmed the basket stands as the sixth-longest made shot in the play-by-play era dating back to 1997-98. It also marks the longest field goal in Hawks franchise history under modern tracking standards.

The improbable highlight capped another milestone for Atlanta. The win extended their consecutive victory streak to eleven games, tied for the fourth-longest in club history. Dyson Daniels led the scoring with 19 points, while Jalen Johnson contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kuminga finished with 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks have lost 11 of their last 13 contests. They currently sit at 23-47, likely heading toward the draft lottery as the playoffs approach.
