Anthony Joshua's heavyweight fight against Kristian Prenga on July 25 has been moved from Riyadh to Jeddah, organizers announced Monday. No official reason was given, though other events have been relocated due to the Iran war and regional conflict.
The non-title bout is Joshua's first since a December car accident in Nigeria that killed two close friends. It is billed as a warm-up for a potential clash with Tyson Fury in November.
"I'm building myself up to be stronger than I've ever been," Joshua told Sky Sports. "I got into boxing to reshape my mind and identity. It's reshaping my life and giving me purpose."
Joshua and Prenga faced off at a London press conference Monday. Prenga, a former kickboxer with a 20-1 professional record, said he is ready to shock the world. Joshua, 28-4, dismissed the talk: "All the talk is cheap… this is my division."
