The Toronto Raptors are reinforcing team unity after a recent on-court incident. Head coach Darko Rajakovic stated the team held a meeting to address how players responded when New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray confronted Jamal Shead during a game.

Rajakovic acknowledged the team did not handle the situation as desired, but confirmed players have spoken and are committed to ensuring such disrespect does not occur again. Guard Immanuel Quickley emphasized the importance of teammates supporting each other, comparing the bond to that of brothers.

The incident occurred late in the Raptors' loss to the Pelicans, when Murray stood over a fallen Shead after making a shot. While Murray received a technical foul, other Raptors players did not immediately intervene, with Quickley being the primary player to confront Murray.

Rajakovic stressed that protecting and standing up for one another is fundamental to the Raptors' team identity and connectivity. Quickley echoed this sentiment, highlighting the deep relationships within the team.
