PARIS - Russian 25th seed Diana Shnaider shocked world number one Aryna Sabalenka 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 in windy conditions at Roland Garros, advancing to her first Grand Slam semifinal.

Sabalenka dominated early, taking the first set 6-3 and building a 5-1 lead in the second. But gusting winds disrupted her rhythm, and Shnaider mounted a furious comeback, breaking the Belarusian twice to force a deciding set.

In the third, the 22-year-old left-hander's forehand proved devastating. She broke Sabalenka early and never looked back, sealing the match with a crosscourt winner after two hours and 12 minutes.

Shnaider will next face Maja Chwalinska for a spot in the final.
