World number two Iga Swiatek advanced to the Indian Wells quarter-finals with a decisive 6-2, 6-0 victory over Czech 13th seed Karolina Muchova. Swiatek showcased a dominant performance in the California desert, winning ten consecutive games.
"I felt I was playing better and better, just great," Swiatek stated after the match. She expressed her enjoyment of the conditions at Indian Wells, a tournament she is aiming to win for a third time.
Swiatek will next face either Katerina Siniakova or Elina Svitolina. In the men's draw, 2021 champion Cameron Norrie also secured a spot in the quarter-finals, defeating Australia's Rinky Hijikata 6-4, 6-2. Norrie awaits the winner of the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud.
