Katie Taylor, the undisputed super-lightweight champion, will end her storied career on September 5th at Dublin’s iconic Croke Park. The 39-year-old faces undefeated French contender Flora Pili (12-0) at the 82,000-seat venue, which she calls the "cathedral of Irish sport."
Taylor, who holds a 25-1 professional record, announced her intention to retire after one final hometown fight. A win would make her a three-time undisputed champion. Her only professional loss-a 2023 defeat to Chantelle Cameron-was avenged later that year. She last fought in July, defeating Amanda Serrano in their trilogy bout in New York.
Promoter Eddie Hearn predicts the event will draw the largest crowd ever for a female athlete in individual sport, calling Taylor's journey from a direct message asking to turn pro to global superstardom "incredible."
