Formula One champion Max Verstappen has voiced his disapproval of the sport's recent technical reset, deeming it too late to alter course.

During off-season testing, Verstappen criticized the new electrified engines, which demand intricate energy management from drivers. He described the system as "Formula E on steroids" and "anti-racing."

Other drivers have echoed concerns, with Williams' Carlos Sainz suggesting the FIA should be open to adjusting regulations. However, Verstappen believes significant investment has been made, making the current rules likely to persist.

Despite his reservations about the regulations, Verstappen praised Red Bull's RB22 car, which will debut with its own engine in Australia. He reported a positive driving experience, noting the complex rule changes did not detract from the car's feel.

Verstappen acknowledged Red Bull may not be the fastest team entering the season, based on winter testing results, but expressed a desire for continued performance improvements.
