World champion Lando Norris expects Max Verstappen to continue in Formula One and pursue a fifth title, even as Verstappen expresses unhappiness with the sport's new regulations.
Verstappen, a vocal critic of the new engine era, has indicated he might leave. However, Norris stated, "I'm sure he'll stay longer than people say."
Norris, who narrowly beat Verstappen last season, noted that while Verstappen has earned the right to choose his path, his departure would be a significant loss for Formula One. "He's always good fun to race against... you always feel like you want to race against the best in the world."
Teammate Oscar Piastri echoed this sentiment, calling Verstappen the sport's benchmark and agreeing it would be a shame if he left in his prime. Formula One recently announced rule changes aimed at improving safety and addressing driver concerns regarding hybrid power units.
Piastri acknowledged the complexity of the new technical regulations, admitting even he struggles to explain them simply.
