Prediction markets, which aggregate human judgment, are increasingly dominated by AI-driven agents that detect and act on brief pricing gaps. Rodrigo Coelho of Edge & Node said bots monitor hundreds of markets per second to capture opportunities that humans cannot. These systems can guarantee wins during short delays between events and market updates.

A study found Polymarket exhibits frequent pricing inconsistencies, with traders extracting around $40 million from inefficiencies. However, as AI improves, concerns grow over market manipulation risks. Pranav Maheshwari of Edge & Node warned that high-capability AI agents may need stricter controls to prevent harmful behaviors.

As AI literacy rises, retail traders gain access to strategies once limited to institutions. Meanwhile, large players already use AI for trading decisions, though not always publicly. The shift toward automation is reshaping trading dynamics, with execution speed becoming a critical advantage.
