A data breach at Marquis Software Solutions, a vendor serving US banks, has potentially exposed the personal information of 672,075 individuals.

The firm disclosed the incident in a filing with the Maine Attorney General, stating that an unauthorized third party accessed its database around August 14, 2025. Although Marquis did not specify what data was stolen, it emphasized the breach was confined to its internal systems and did not infiltrate client banking networks.

An investigation was launched immediately, with law enforcement and cybersecurity experts engaged. Affected individuals were identified by December 10, 2025, and Marquis is offering one year of free identity monitoring through Epiq Privacy Solutions ID. To date, no evidence of fraud or identity theft linked to the breach has been detected.
