The U.S. Department of Labor announced the launch of a new AI in Registered Apprenticeship Innovation Portal, a website designed to help workers and employers build artificial intelligence skills. The portal debuted during National Apprenticeship Week.

Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling called it a major step forward in preparing the American workforce for the jobs of the future. The portal offers AI literacy tools, industry-specific training modules, and resources to create or update apprenticeship programs.

Resources are organized into three areas: AI skills in existing programs, skill-building by industry, and ways to integrate AI into new or existing programs. Industries covered include education, finance, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.

The announcement comes amid growing concerns that AI could disrupt jobs across industries, prompting pressure on the government to provide training. The Trump administration has also pushed a broader national AI agenda, including a White House policy framework calling for federal AI standards, expanded infrastructure, and workforce development.
