Toronto police say four people have been arrested in connection with two alleged hate-motivated attacks targeting the Jewish community. The arrests come nearly a month after an 18-year-old man was released on bail for charges related to the same incidents.

Chief Superintendent Katherine Stephenson said Wednesday that two adult men, one male youth, and one female youth have been taken into custody. Two other youths-a male and a female-remain at large. Stephenson stressed that these were not random acts, but organized and planned attacks. On April 30, three visibly Jewish victims were shot with an imitation firearm in the Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue West area. On May 7, three more people were targeted outside the Congregation Chasidei Bobov synagogue with a similar device. A total of seven suspects have been identified, with some allegedly involved in both assaults. Evidence seized includes gel-blaster imitation firearms.
