Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remains the world's busiest airport, handling over 106 million passengers in 2025. Dubai International Airport and Tokyo Haneda Airport secured second and third place, respectively. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport rounded out the top five.

These rankings, compiled by Airports Council International (ACI) World, are based on total passenger traffic. Despite retaining its top spot, Atlanta saw a slight decrease in passenger numbers compared to 2024 and 2019. Asia-Pacific airports, particularly Tokyo Haneda and Shanghai Pudong, showed significant jumps in their rankings, reflecting a strong post-pandemic recovery.

Only two European airports made the top 10 for overall passenger traffic: London Heathrow ranked seventh and Istanbul Airport eighth. Both airports experienced shifts in their rankings compared to previous years but showed substantial growth from 2019 figures.

In terms of international passenger traffic, Dubai International Airport led the list, followed by London Heathrow. This segment highlights a strong rebound in global travel, with international passenger traffic increasing by 5.9% on 2024 and 8.3% on 2019.
