Masked thieves stole three iconic paintings valued at over $14 million from the Magnani Rocca Foundation near Parma, Italy, in a three-minute heist on March 22.
The stolen works include Fish by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, estimated at $9.6 million; Still Life with Cherries by Paul Cézanne; and Odalisque on the Terrace by Henri Matisse.
The intruders forced entry through the first-floor main door, bypassed alarms and surveillance, and escaped over a garden fence. Investigators say the operation was highly organized.
The Magnani Rocca Foundation, established in 1977 in the former home of art historian Luigi Magnani, houses a private collection featuring works by Dürer, Rubens, Van Dyck, Goya, and Monet. This is the latest in a series of brazen European art thefts.
