The Urology Care Foundation (UCF) is urging women to speak up about common, treatable urological health issues that are often overlooked.
The official foundation of the American Urological Association says millions of women suffer in silence, believing symptoms from UTIs to incontinence are inevitable. An estimated 60% of women will experience a UTI in their lifetime, and up to one in three will face urinary incontinence, often after childbirth or menopause.
One of the most overlooked areas is Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), caused by dropping estrogen levels, leading to recurring UTIs, pain, and discomfort. Low-dose vaginal estrogen is a safe, effective treatment, the UCF reports.
During Women's Health Month this May, the Foundation is sharing educational resources to help women recognize symptoms and explore options at every life stage.
