Autonomous weapons manufacturer Anduril is significantly expanding its space division. The company has acquired ExoAnalytic, a firm specializing in tracking objects in geostationary orbit. This acquisition adds 130 employees to Anduril's existing space sector staff of 120.
ExoAnalytic's sensor network provides crucial visibility into valuable space real estate, utilized by the US military and foreign governments for communications, missile warning, and intelligence gathering. The firm's technology collects billions of observations, enabling the discernment of satellite maneuvers, anomalies, and other critical data.
ExoAnalytic's expertise in digital signal processing and target estimation also bolsters Anduril's potential role in missile defense programs. The technology is vital for accurately locating and identifying missiles, even from blurry pixelated data, a sophisticated capability critical for national security.
While Anduril will continue serving ExoAnalytic's commercial clients, the focus will shift towards developing space technology tailored for military applications. Anduril aims to enhance its capabilities in protecting, accessing, and maintaining custody of space, with a clear emphasis on tracking all objects within orbit.
