Elastic NV has reportedly acquired Deductive AI Inc. in a deal valued at up to $85 million. This price tag represents more than double the startup's valuation following its seed round last year, which included backing from Databricks Ventures and CRV.
The acquisition strengthens Elastic’s position in automated infrastructure troubleshooting. Deductive AI operates as an AI Site Reliability Engineer, utilizing Elasticsearch and observability tools to diagnose system malfunctions. Unlike standard monitoring, the platform generates multiple hypotheses and deploys parallel AI agents to test solutions, mimicking human engineering workflows while minimizing hardware costs through approximate querying.
Deductive AI currently generates approximately $1 million in annualized recurring revenue with clients including DoorDash and Foursquare. Engineers can customize the system using natural language commands and verify outputs through transparent workflow visualization. This marks Elastic’s second automation acquisition in 2025, following the purchase of Keep Alerting Ltd to enhance root cause analysis within its Kibana and Elasticsearch ecosystem.
