A Washington-based employee benefits administrator, Navia Benefit Solutions, has suffered a significant data breach affecting 2.7 million Americans.
The company discovered suspicious network activity on January 23rd and confirmed unauthorized access between December 22nd and January 15th. Personal information including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and contact details were compromised. Health plan data related to HRAs, FSAs, and COBRA was also exposed.
Navia says no claims or financial data were accessed. The company is offering free identity theft protection services through Kroll for 12 months and has notified federal authorities.
Affected individuals are advised to monitor credit reports and accounts for signs of fraud.
